‘From Mines to Minds 2’ project is improving TVET learning outcomes
Access to standard literature for trainers and students in TVET institutions in Sierra Leone has always been a challenge. Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) with consent from JADA Technical Institute and Sierra Rutile Ltd. (SRL) provided textbooks and table books for both theoretical and practical training in mechanical and electrical/electronics technology at JADA Technical Institute. The professional textbooks contain the basic principles needed for the whole field of mechanical and electrical/electronics technology and also the more advanced knowledge in the area of industrial mechanical and electrical/electronics engineering. The table books include tables and formula and contain the most important guidelines, designs, types, dimensions and standard values for their subject areas. Both textbooks are ideal for use in TVET institutions, technical colleges and polytechnics.
In addition, GIZ provided JADA Technical Institute with a user manual for the electrical/electronics textbook and table book (the one for mechanical will follow soon) as well as training delivery guides for entrepreneurship and employability modules that have been integrated into the mechanical and electrical/electronics technology curricula.
Witnessed by SRL and the JADA, GIZ is handing over textbooks and table books to JADA Technical Institute for the areas of mechanical and electrical/electronics technology as well as and trainer delivery guides for entrepreneurship and employability modules that have been integrated into the existing curricula.
