On Thursday 12 November 2020, NCTVA together with their partners celebrated the signing ceremony of the MoU for the new digital certification process at the Family Kingdom Resort in Aberdeen. In May 2020, NCTVA has conducted refresher trainings at four TVET institutions (TVIs) on the application of the newly developed Integrated Certification Software (ICS). Local software developer iDT Labs has created a new web-based certification software for NCTVA, in close collaboration with the German International Cooperation, also referred to as the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). The ICS homepage can be accessed at www.ics.nctva.org and will digitize and decentralize NCTVA certification processes for TVET in Sierra Leone. On Tuesday, the 22nd October 2019, NCTVA hosted the 2nd Demonstration Meeting of the Integrated Certification Software (ICS). Led by iDT Labs’ representatives, Mrs. Athira Ramanan and Mr. Sylvester Johnson, the meeting fulfilled its aim to demonstrate one of the last steps of finalizing the digitalization of NCTVA’s presence online. Being attended by multiple key actors of NCTVA, Director Jalloh also welcomed members of the German Development Corporation, who are overseeing the process by offering technical support along the way. GIZ organized the fourth workshop of the Certification Expert Panel (CEP) for the EU and German government co-funded project that provides technical support to the NCTVA for the “Establishment of a Skills Certification Programme for TVET Graduates”. The meeting took place at the Brookfields Hotel on Wednesday, 12 June 2019.
